Dairy Industries Expo is set to take place in 29-30 October 2025 at the NAEC Stoneleigh. This exhibition meets the longstanding demand from industry professionals for a dedicated event that encompasses the entire dairy processing chain – from processor to plate.

Judith Bryans

Judith Bryans

Dairy UK

Former IDF president and current chief executive, Dr Judith Bryans of Dairy UK has long been involved in British and international dairy and science. She took over the running of the organisation in October 2013. Prior to that she was director of The Dairy Council, a position she held from 2006.

Judith was elected president of the International Dairy Federation in 2016 and served a four-year term in that role. After completing her term as IDF President, Judith was made an Honorary Member of the IDF and is also the chair of the IDF Task Force on the UN Food Systems and co-chair of the IDF Task Force on Women in Dairying.

Judith also served on the board of the Global Dairy Platform and as a governor of the Dairy Sustainability Framework from 2016 to 2020. At a European level, Judith is a member of the Board of the European Dairy Association (EDA). Judith has a PhD from King’s College London.

Mike Pinches, the Society of Dairy Technology president, is an experienced manager with a history of success and a proven record of both technical sales and business management. A leader with a high level of technical knowledge coupled with creative aptitude and determination to succeed. He has worked for many years in the ingredients supply industry and witnessed consistent and continuous improvements in a commercial focused career.

He notes, “Dairy is one of the most important agricultural sectors in this country but despite huge potential for future contributions to nutrition and prosperity, it faces challenges.”

Off duty, Mike holds the chair of a local Community Amateur Sports Club and is an active member of the Shropshire Club, which exists to raise money in support of Hope House Children’s Hospices, a centre of excellence for children’s palliative care.

Jaap de Jonge started his agency representing European manufacturers who supply equipment, ingredients and packaging materials to the dairy industry 25 years ago. Jaap works for a range of companies, with the main ones being ASTA Foodtech (dairy equipment) and Schmid Folien (cheese wrapping) from Germany and Facchinetti (fixed weight cutting) from Italy. All these companies have a proven track record in the UK and Ireland where Jaap is active. Jap is also an experienced cheese judge.

Yorkshire Dama Cheese

Razan Alsous, the owner of Yorkshire Dama Cheese, who has been an ongoing presence on British food television and in local groups since her company’s startup in 2014. She continues to produce delicious halloumi-type cheeses with her husband Raghid Sandouk at their plant in Sowery Bridge. Since speaking at our inaugural Expo in 2022 in Harrogate, she has been busy, appearing on Aldi’s Next Big Thing, where the company was selected for its cheese pastries to be listed in more than 1,000 stores.

University of Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Lead of Rapisense

Magdalena Raykova is a Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde and Entrepreneurial Lead of Rapisense. Magdalena has recently achieved a PhD from the Civil and Environmental Engineering department specifically focused upon the development of the electrochemical biosensor for detection of contaminants in milk. Rapisense is a future product of her research currently on a commercialisation journey and implementation in dairy industry practices. Magdalena’s mission is driven by the desire to make a tangible impact on industry practices, ensuring that technological advancements translate into practical solutions for real-world challenges.

Sarah Flynn

Sarah Flynn

CEM

Sarah Flynn is a food science professional with deep expertise in dairy processing and technical sales. A University of Limerick graduate with First Class Honours, her award-winning research on milk protein hydrolysates launched a career spanning industry-led research with the Dairy Processing Technology Centre and successful commercial roles at SII/Ryder and CEM Microwave Technology. Known for combining scientific insight with sales strategy, Sarah has delivered significant market growth and operational value to food and dairy clients across Ireland.
